 The only thing better than music that sounds good is music that feels good…once in a while you come across a band that gives you both… introducing Jiva, the culmination of all that is good in music. This band whose moniker translates "the spirit within" perfectly blends of the music of Soul, Dance and Jazz to create a new sound for the masses.
Hailing from Atlanta, GA, Jiva’s Fender Rhodes driven rhythm section conjures R&B, House, Bossa Nova and Drum and Bass beats that can move any crowd while the soulful vocal 4-piece section brings back memories of Brazil ’66 and the 5th Dimension. The Jazz infused horn section rounds out this trinity of sound that skillfully presents musical gems written and orchestrated by the band’s leader and bassist, Khari Simmons.
Jiva’s first release, the Millennial Bossa hit, "Stars" features remixes by Frances’ Tom & Joyce, whose track "Vai Minha Tristeza" was a huge club smash last year, and Tauriva (Atlanta’s DJ Injex & Jiva’s Khari Simmons)
